Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does OC and OCF mean? OC stands for Online Community which is the entire At The Well community as a whole. OCF stands for Online Community Friends which is you, the person doing the Online Bible Study with us.

  • How/Where do I sign up for the Study? You can find all of the information for our current Study and sign up by clicking here. Fill out the registration form by entering your name, email, and choose your small group option. If you choose the "No Small Group" option, all you need to do is hit "Submit" and you are done. A confirmation message will appear on your screen with some information on dates specific to the Study and what to expect next. A copy of your submitted form will be emailed to you, in case you need to refer back to it to see what options you chose. Make sure you check your spam/junk folders if you do not see the email.

  • What happens after I sign up for the Study? If you signed up for a Facebook or Instagram Small Group, you will receive an email invitation from your Small Group Leader a week or two before the Study begins. The email will include specific instructions on how to join your Small Group. If you chose not to sign up for a Small Group, you will receive an email a week before the Study begins with the password and information on how to access the Study Blog. You will also receive this email if you did choose to join a Small Group.

  • Do I need to sign up for the Study? Yes, you need to sign up for the Study in order to receive emails about the Study and the password to enter the Blog for the Study.

  • Why is there a password on the Study Blog? At The Well chose to password protect the Study Blog so that when you comment on the blog, your privacy is more protected. Only OCFs will have the password to each Study Blog. The password will change for each Study. The password will also help cut down on spam posts in the blog.

  • Is there a certain time I need to join or participate? Good news, there are no set times you need to be interacting or online with us. Our Study is designed with YOU in mind! No matter what time zone you live in, your work schedule, home responsibilities, or everyday life happenings -- you are able to study with us whenever it is most convenient for you!

  • What do I need for the Study? There is no cost to join the Study with us. You will need access to your email and the internet. You will also need a copy of the book we will be studying. We also encourage you to get a Bible. If you do not have a Bible, there are several apps that you can download to access the Bible for free. You do not need a specific version of the Bible.

  • What is a small group? A small group is approximately 20 women who are studying together. Each group is led by an OC Trained Small Group Leader. These groups are hosted on Facebook and Instagram, so you would need an account with one of those to participate in this option. If you are not participating in a small group, you do not need a social media account to participate in the Study.

  • How will I be notified which small group I am placed in? If you are in a small group, you will be notified by email with an invitation to join your group before the Study begins.

  • What are the Facebook/Instagram Community Groups? These groups are larger groups and are not small groups. They are led by a team of OC Trained Team Members. Here, you will get community, encouragement, and prayer. These groups are open all of the time, not just during studies. You can find them by clicking on the social media icons on the bottom of any page on our website. When you get on the Facebook/Instagram page, make sure you click "like" to follow that page.

  • What if I have a question that was not answered here? Go to the homepage on this website and submit the "Contact Us" form. Alternatively, you can send us an email at communityatthewell@gmail.com.
