When one comes to the well, it is to "draw" water. Draw can be defined in many ways, but in terms of drawing water it's meaning becomes more clearly seen. Draw- gently pull or guide (someone) in a specified direction. Come to or arrive at a point in time or a specified point in a process. Extract (an object, especially a weapon) from a container or receptacle. Take or obtain (liquid) from a container or receptacle. Take in (a breath). Be the cause of (a specified response). Attract (someone) to come to a place or an event. Induce (succeed in persuading or influencing) (someone) to reveal or do something. Direct or attract (someone's attention) to something. Reach (a conclusion) by deduction (the action of taking something away) or inference (a conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning) from a set of circumstances. Formulate or perceive (a comparison or distinction). A person or thing that is very attractive or interesting. Isaiah 53: 2 tells us that JESUS "hath no form or comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him." HE does not come in a way that causes our flesh to be moved by sight. HE does not force HIMSELF upon us, but lovingly offers and gently draws, pulls, guides, us to HIM; in HIS direction and/or the direction that we should go. We arrive at the specified point or place in our process, HE desires for us to be.... to see HIM. From this encounter we "draw," obtain, extract from HIM, all that we need. We receive breath (the HOLY SPIRIT), revelation of HIM, HIS Word, and our situation. HE directs our attention to HIM, rather than our worrisome thoughts and reasonings, which lead us astray or drowns us deeper in despair and our problems. We obtain weapons to fight. "3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ..." 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5. We do the same for those who join us "At The Well." We make JESUS "attractive" to those who need HIM. To those in search of HIM. To those who weren't looking for HIM. They come to this "Well" and their attention is directed toward HIM. They are "drawn in." While they are here, they are gently led by us and given evidence that influences their hearts to open, that HE may reveal HIMSELF to them. Now, they may "draw" and formulate their own conclusion, by HIS good works through us, to prayerfully perceive HIM and be drawn away from the darkness into HIS light. To find the answer (HIM) and hope for their circumstances. To leave knowing "37... in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. " And saying, "38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
